Your health and vision is important. Because of the permanent damage an eye desease can cause, you are advised to follow your eye care practitioners advice close and see your doctor on a regular bases. In extreme cases, like Glaucoma, an eye desease may lead to blindness or heavy visual impairment.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition of the eye, where the intraocular or inner pressure of the eye is elevated and the optic nerve(s) are compromised. If this is the case, the transmission of signals to the brain is interrupted.

Generally the are 2 types of Glaucoma:

The Angle Closure Glaucoma starts with instantanous, heavy symptoms like (headaches, pain in the eye itself and nausea, ect) and permanently damages your vision on each occurance.

The Open Angle Glaucoma decreases vision over time.

What if I have Glaucoma?

There are remedies against glaucoma, like eye drops prescribed by your eye care practitioner, that cann lower the intraocular pressure and prevent destroying your vision. Since glaucoma does not always start with heavy symptoms, a large number of patients does not recognize the condition and end up with vision impairment.

As always, you are advised to see your eye care practitioner on a regular bases to make sure your eyes are in perfect shape.
